Funeral for slain Perry teen is Monday
The funeral for Sam Poss, the missing Perry teen who was later found dead, is planned for 4 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Perry.
The obituary for Poss describes him as a “happy-go-lucky kid” with a “heart for animals.” Music, gaming and tinkering with computers were the things he enjoyed most. He played percussion in the Perry High School band and taught himself to play piano.

Perry teen seen walking home, but he never arrived
Poss loved traveling and aspired to join the U.S. Navy after graduating from Perry High in May, the obituary states.
Poss was last seen alive early Oct. 15. He was found dead four days later. Brandon Warren, 18, and Dakota White, 17, have been charged with murder.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Sam Poss Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will benefit a percussionist student each year.
Funeral attendees are invited to wear casual clothing in honor of Poss. Or they may come barefoot or wear one short sock and one tall sock, as Poss was known to do.
