This new wing spot opens in Warner Robins. Which of the 30 sauce options will you try?
With about 30 sauce options, customers to this new wing joint in Warner Robins may have a hard time deciding which flavor to try first.
Christina Chen, manager of TouchDown Wings, suggested three popular sauces that are sure to please: #18 lemon pepper, #2 juicy Cajun Garlic and #24 garlic Parmesan.
The wings can be ordered separately from 6-100 pieces or as a combo with fries and a drink or swap fried rice for french fries with an upcharge. Chicken, shrimp and beef may be added to the rice for an additional cost.
The restaurant also offers Philly steak sandwiches, a gyro wrap and other sandwiches, hamburgers, including a turkey burger, chicken tenders, fish, shrimp, salads and appetizers.
‘I give it a 10’
Josh Owens stopped in during opening week and tried the Philly steak egg roll and mild wings with garlic butter.
“Awesome,” he said.
Yolanda Stubs also checked out the restaurant with her daughter, Swahili Hardy.
“I give it a 10,” the girl said.
The new spot at 2907 Watson Blvd., Suite C-2, is the first Middle Georgia restaurant of this chain that got its start in the Atlanta area. It’s next door to the new Crumbl Cookies.
How Touchdown came to Warner Robins
TouchDown Wings was born out of the popularity of wings at a Chinese restaurant in downtown Atlanta that spiked during Super Bowl Sunday.
TouchDown founder Jay Yang and his partner Jeremy Lin decided to open a restaurant that focused primarily on wings and later expanded with additional food options.
When the first TouchDown wings opened, they closed Hong Kong City, which was in business from 2013-17 in downtown Atlanta.
A second Warner Robins location is planned for 117 Russell Parkway, Suite 290, which is expected to open in November. The partners expect to open a third TouchDown Wings in Macon, with the location to be determined.
Their first location opened Aug. 13.
“So far, it’s good,” Chen said on the fourth day of opening.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Order by phone at 478-333-2592 or 478-333-2593.
