Macon is certainly on the nice list this year, as it made national news for its beautiful downtown Christmas light display.

Macon’s Christmas Light Extravaganza was featured on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir and hailed as a “spectacular light display” for the festive season.

“So many coming from miles away, even from other states just to see this,” Muir said in his #AmericaStrong segment. “It was the idea of one neighbor, Bryan Nichols, who remembered how his town used to decorate for Christmas when he was a boy.”

In the video, Nichols, who is also co-owner of Taste & See Coffee Shop & Gallery in Macon, introduces viewers to the display and how much it has grown.

“I knew that it would be a big deal, but I had no idea what it would turn into,” Nichols said in the segment.

Other familiar Macon faces in the segment include Scott Mitchell, owner of Sweet Eleanor’s Divine Desserts in Macon, as well as some of the hard working employees at Visit Macon.

See Macon’s magical one million light display and all of Nichols’ hard work each night, from now until Jan. 5, in downtown Macon. And watch the full ABC News segment in a video online.
