If you’re looking for a new place for dinner, you might want to try one of these three new restaurants in Houston County.

The first is a national steak chain that’s new to Warner Robins and has ties to a Macon restaurant. The second specializes in chicken tenders and is the second Houston County location for a local family.

The third is brought to you by a Warner Robins couple who opened their first authentic Japanese restaurant in Macon a couple of years ago. Now, they’ve brought their restaurant to Warner Robins. Here’s a look at all three new restaurants:

People driving by the restaurant at 4070 Watson Blvd. last week would have noticed a crowded parking lot with about 200 employees on site in training. Also, the restaurant opened for friends and family only by invitation Friday and Saturday.

Amie Coleman, a veteran employee of the Texas Roadhouse in Macon, is leading the team at the newly-constructed 7,900-plus-square-foot restaurant in Warner Robins that can seat up to 280 people.

Huey Magoo’s

Billing itself as the “filet mignon of chicken,” the new Huey Magoo’s at 1504 Sam Nunn Blvd. in Perry is now open.

The fast-casual chain of restaurants specializes in chicken tenders, tender sandwiches, wraps and salads. The menu includes signature dips, sides such as hand-spun chips and freshly-made coleslaw and desserts such as banana pudding.

This is the second Houston County location for franchisees Danny and Trinette Rosales, and their son Jacob Rosales, as well as the restaurant chain’s 75th store.

The Rosales family opened the Huey Magoo’s at 711 Lake Joy Road in Warner Robins in December 2022.

“The response to our Warner Robins location has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to bring the same fresh, flavorful menu and exceptional service to our newest store in Perry,” Danny Rosales said in a news release.

The new restaurant, which celebrated its grand opening Wednesday, is in a former 2,400-square-foot Hardee’s location that’s been remodeled. A competitor, Chick-fil-A, is just down the street.

The new spot offers dine-in, takeout, catering, online ordering through the Huey Magoo’s mobile app and website, and third-party delivery services such as Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash.

Customers new to the Magoo’s Rewards loyalty program, in which members earn points for free food with every purchase, can receive a buy one, get one free 10-piece tender bite meal to redeem within 30 days.

Founded in 2004, Huey Magoo’s has locations in 12 states. The first Huey Magoo’s in Middle Georgia was opened in Milledgeville in April 2021 by a different franchise group.

Tenmii Japanese Eatery

A new fast casual authentic Japanese restaurant in Warner Robins aims to bring new flavors to the community that are different from hibachi, teriyaki and sushi.

The restaurant at 1012 Ga. 96, Suite 200, opened Thursday in a shopping plaza anchored by a new Brown’s Eye Center. More new restaurants coming to the plaza include DosBros Fresh Mexican Grill, Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom and Buffalo Wild Wings Go.

Tenmii Japanese Eatery offers rice bowls such as chicken donburi; sando, which is a Japanese sandwich; udon and ramen noodle dishes such as spicy karamiso; appetizers like Tenmii gyoza, Japanese dumplings with sweet and sour sauce; and more.

This is the second Tenmii Japanese Eatery for Kusmayadi “Han” Djunaidi, and his wife, Vita Tjhin. Their first at 1625 Bass Road, Suite 330, in Macon opened January 2023.

Their financial partner, Thresia Wiguna, spent a year and a half researching and developing the recipes, Djunaidi said. Wiguna owns Tenya Japanese Eatery near Atlanta, which she opened in September 2020.

The restaurant also offers Japanese imported candy, snacks and drinks. Imported beers and saka also will be available once the restaurant obtains its alcohol license.

The restaurant’s name, Tenmii, comes from the Japanese word Tenmei, which means to bring happiness to others.

“Every guest that comes to our store … we want to share happiness to them as well … with the foods that we make, with the service that we give them,” Djunaidi said.

The restaurant offers catering and third-party delivery. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The number is 478-599-9988.
