Vibrant new ‘pastry parlor’ offers Latin & French flare in Forsyth. Here’s a look inside
We’ve got some very sweet news for Forsythians: cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes and more are headed your way.
These are just a few of pastry chef Lenise Leknes’s offerings at her new shop located at 53 North Lee Street, Suite C, right next to Pizza Hut in Forsyth.
The shop is called Treats with Lenise, but it’s time to get extra excited because this is no ordinary dessert shop.
As she calls it, it’s a “pastry parlor” with both Latin and French flavors, from beignets to dulce de leche and more.
“I love incorporating my Puerto Rican heritage into every creation, so guests leave with new pastry experiences,” she said.
Treats with Lenise opens on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2025, and when asked why she chose Forsyth for her storefront, Leknes said it’s because she loves the “small town community feel and slower pace of life.”
Inside the business, Leknes has created a vibrant yet relaxing setup, perfect for grabbing a quick treat to go or chowing down on your favorite sweets while chatting with loved ones.
“It’s Bohemian chic with a cozy family-friendly and fellowshipping atmosphere. When guests visit, we want them to feel at home as if they’re in my living room,” said Leknes.
We just can’t get over the mouth-watering pastries waiting to be devoured, but did we mention she can also whip up just about any custom treat you can dream up? And if you need a custom order for an event such as a wedding, birthday party or baby shower, she can make a special spread that’s sure to please every palate.
Leknes even offers community and private classes, so you can get your pastry chef dreams started.
Stop in for something sweet at Treats with Lenise from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays only.
