Another 5-star recruit announces commitment to Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia’s late additions to the early signing period have led to a dream-like scenario for the Bulldogs’ 2020 recruiting class.

Five-star Kelee Ringo, a cornerback out of Arizona, publicly announced his pledge to Georgia at the All-American Bowl on Sunday afternoon. Ringo joins five-star tight end Darnell Washington to end up at Georgia over the past two days — Washington gave his announcement Friday at the Under Armour Game in Orlando, Fla.

Ringo has been a long-time target of Georgia’s through the 2020 recruiting cycle. He can be considered the final jewel in the crown of a class that nears the No. 1 ranking for three consecutive seasons. Ringo is the 21st addition to the class, and is expected to be the last major announcement ahead of National Signing Day on Feb. 5.

Ringo ranks as the No. 1 cornerback nationally and the eighth-ranked overall prospect, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

He bolsters a young Bulldog position group that had a strong season with Eric Stokes, Tyson Campbell and DJ Daniel rotating at cornerback. Ringo is the second cornerback in the class, joining four-star Jalen Kimber.

Ringo continues a trend of West Coast adds for Georgia. Head coach Kirby Smart has landed four prospects who reside west of Texas — two from California, one from Nevada and one from Arizona.

Once more, Georgia’s recruiting machine produces a strong class.
