UGA freshman receiver leaves SEC Championship with knee injury

Georgia’s injury woes at receiver continued in the first quarter of the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

With 3:30 left in the opening quarter, Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm hit receiver Dominick Blaylock on a crossing route over the middle of the field. Blaylock turned and tried to cut backwards, then upfield, but his knee buckled and he collapsed onto the ground in pain.

Blaylock was escorted off the field by trainers. He was announced as “out for the remainder of the game” prior to the beginning of the second quarter.

The Bulldogs entered the game down their No. 1 and No. 2 receivers, Lawrence Cager and George Pickens. Cager is out for the season with an ankle injury, while Pickens must sit out the first half due to fighting in the Bulldogs’ win over Georgia Tech.

The Bulldogs trail LSU 7-0 as the first quarter winds down at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
