Lottery player wins second big Arkansas prize after helping person ‘in distress’
One lottery player in Arkansas took home $50,000 — twice.
The man from Pulaski County has never won more than $100 from a lottery ticket, but the month of July landed him huge prizes from $20 scratch-off tickets, lottery officials said in a June 16 news release.
Forty top prizes were still available after the player’s first $50,000 win earlier in the month, so he bought a second Frenzy ticket to test his luck.
As he was on the way to buy the ticket at a Kum & Go in Little Rock, he offered to give a person “in distress” $100 in an effort to help them.
The gesture turned into instant “good karma” as the player walked into the convenience store, purchased the ticket and scratched it off to reveal his second $50,000 prize this month.
“There’s no way I won again on this ticket!” he told lottery officials.
The man plans to use his winnings to buy new volleyball shoes for his stepdaughter and a car.
Little Rock is located in Pulaski County.
