A 77-year-old woman had just finished her grocery shopping at Kroger when she got in her car to scratch off a Michigan lottery ticket.

“I was frozen in my seat for a while,” the 77-year-old woman told lottery officials as she claimed her life-changing prize.

Her $30 Electric 300s ticket she bought in Milford won her the jackpot — a $4 million prize, Michigan lottery officials said in a July 1 news release.

“I told my husband when I got home, and he had a hard time believing it even after looking the ticket over,” the woman from Oakland County told lottery officials.

The woman chose to receive her $4 million in annual payments of approximately $133,000 for 30 years, according to lottery officials. She plans to use the money to make home repairs, then donate and share the winnings with her family.

“We haven’t told anyone about our big win, but plan to surprise our family with the news soon!” the winner said.

Milford is about a 40-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
