A 21-year-old man faces felony charges after he allegedly shot a woman and a police officer Thursday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Rashawn Litrelle Williams reportedly shot a 31-year-old woman who lives with him, the GBI said in a news release Friday.

Williams also allegedly shot the first officer on the scene, who was 35 years old, Warner Robins Police Department Chief Wayne Fisher said at a Thursday press conference.

Williams was charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer, and aggravated assault, according to state investigators.

The woman and officer were hospitalized in “critical condition,” the GBI and WRPD said.

The woman initially called 911 to report a “domestic disturbance” at her and Williams’ home in the 100 block of Rose Street, the agencies said.

Williams fled to another house feet away on Redmond Street, and “barricaded” himself inside, Fisher said. SWAT teams and a “mass” amount of law enforcement held a two-hour standoff while negotiating to get him out, Fisher said.

He eventually surrendered, and was arrested and booked in the Houston County Jail without bond.

The GBI spelled Williams name in the release as “Rashawn,” detainee records from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office spelled it as “Rayshawn,” and Fisher spelled it as “Rashaun.”
