Officers warned the public to stay away from a neighborhood in Warner Robins Thursday morning due to a “barricaded suspect,” the Warner Robins Police Department announced.

Police were at the scene around 9 a.m. on Redmond Street, near warehouses behind Hawkinsville Road, a WRPD news release said.

A suspect was arrested by 11:30 a.m. but Mandy Stella, the city clerk, denied The Telegraph’s request about the person’s identity.

There was “no threat to the public,” while police were at the scene earlier, she said. It was unclear if the area was safe for travel yet.

The WRPD, Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation planned a press conference to discuss further details at 1 p.m.

Officers urged anyone with related tips to call the police department at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
