Suspect in deadly Macon crash was going 99 in a 35 mph zone, indictment says
The indictment against a driver accused of causing a fatal crash earlier this year says she was driving nearly three times as fast as the speed limit, according to court records.
Jaleah Nycole Freeman, the alleged driver of a Kia Soul that crashed into a pole on Bloomfield and Rocky Creek roads on March 23, which resulted in the death of 19-year-old Jakayla Holman, faces one count of aggressive driving and one count of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, according to the indictment.
Freeman turned herself in to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on July 29, deputies said.
The indictment against Freeman alleges she was driving 99 miles per hour, when the speed limit was 35 miles per hour.
The indictment is only an allegation, and Freeman still has not been convicted in the case. She could face trial and have a change to present her side of the incident.
