The woman who allegedly was the driver in a fatal one-car crash earlier this year has been charged over the incident, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

Jaleah Nycole Freeman, the 20-year-old driver of the Kia Soul who allegedly crashed onto a pole on Bloomfield and Rocky Creek roads on March 23, turned herself in to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning after she was “wanted in connection with the death of Jakayla Holman, the passenger of the vehicle,” the sheriff’s office said.

Holman, the 19-year-old passenger, died after being “ejected from” the compact car, according to Coroner Leon Jones.

Freeman is charged with aggressive driving and homicide by vehicle in the first degree and is being held at the Bibb County Jail without bond.
