A man was arrested about two weeks after he allegedly murdered a woman behind a Macon restaurant, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators from the sheriff’s office arrested 22-year-old D’Michael Jenkins in connection to the death of 30-year-old Ashanti Macon, who was a mother of five children.

She was fatally shot on July 15, in an alleyway behind Little Caesars at the corner of Pio Nono Avenue and Montpelier Avenue, deputies said.

Jenkins was arrested without incident at Riverstone Apartments at 3990 Riverside Boulevard, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

He was taken to the Bibb County Jail and held without bond.
