Man shot in chest on Chambers Road in Macon

Shots rang out, striking a 30-year-old Macon man walking on Chambers Road early Wednesday.

The incident happened near the intersection of Chambers Road and Eisenhower Parkway at 2:55 a.m.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Clifford Robinson was walking on Chambers Road when he heard several shots. Robinson was shot once in the chest.

He was able to call for help at a nearby Circle K at 4775 Chambers Road.

Robinson was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was in critical but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

No suspect information was available.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
