Man shot in the head during Macon house party Friday night has died, coroner says

A 28-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after being shot in the head at a party in Macon Friday night.

Jarvis Knight was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. at The Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

During the party at 4369 Mikado Ave., witnesses said a person started shooting around 11:45 p.m., and that Knight was struck in the head, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

No one else was injured in the shooting, and there was no information on the suspect at the time the news release was issued at 1:50 a.m. Saturday.

Knight’s death marks the 36th homicide in Macon in 2020 and the third homicide this week, Jones said.
