Victim identified in deadly Warner Robins crash involving a motorcyclist
A motorcyclist died early Friday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision, according to Warner Robins police.
The victim was identified as Glenn Hayes, 57, of Byron, according to a Warner Robins police news release posted on Facebook.
The 11:52 p.m. collision Thursday between a 1999 Harley Davidson Sportster and a 2011 Honda Accord happened on Watson Boulevard, also known as the Ga. 247 Connector, just west of Hwy 41, the release said.
Hayes was driving his motorcycle east on Watson Boulevard in the inside lane approaching the Publix Shopping Center entrance nearest the Waffle House, the release said.
The driver of the Honda Accord was attempting to turn left onto Watson Boulevard from the shopping center when the car struck the motorcycle, according to the release.
The collision remains under investigation.
It marks the fourth deadly crash this year worked by Warner Robins police, including a pedestrian fatality, police said.
