2 dead, including a pedestrian, in separate Warner Robins traffic collisions
Warner Robins police are investigating two fatal collisions Tuesday night, including one that involved a pedestrian who was pushing a shopping cart along Watson Boulevard.
Roy Long, 53, of Warner Robins, died at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, after he was struck by car along the side of the eastbound lane of the roadway near a shopping center at 2706 Watson Blvd., according to a Warner Robins police news release.
The driver of the 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling east in the outside lane, the release said. Another person, a 30-year-old man, who was walking in the gutter near Long, was not hurt. No charges have been filed in the 11:23 p.m. accident.
In an earlier crash involving two vehicles, Yulanda Nelson, 39, of Warner Robins, was killed, according to a Warner Robins police news release. She died at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.
Nelson was driving her 2008 Nissan Altima on Elberta Road near Ola Drive when she crossed the centerline and struck a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, the release said. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Chevrolet and a passenger, who also were not restrained in the 9:13 p.m. crash, were also taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, with injuries, according to the release.
