Gunfire erupts for second time in a week outside a north Macon apartment complex

Gunfire erupted Tuesday night for a second time outside a north Macon apartment complex in a week.

By Wednesday morning, the person shot in the first incident was arrested in the Tuesday night episode.

Timothy Jeremiah Green was arrested at his home in Gray and charged with aggravated assault, according to Bibb County sheriff’s officials.

Just before 10:30 p.m., a 20-year-old had just gotten into a vehicle that was picking him up from his apartment at The Vistas at 4150 Arkwright Road when shots rang out, according to Bibb County sheriff’s officials.

The resident and the female driver were not hurt, but the vehicle was shot up.

They sped off to get away from the gunfire and met up with sheriff’s deputies at a nearby fire station to report the incident.

A week ago Wednesday, gunfire erupted in the same parking lot after an “altercation” near Building No. 12.

Green was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was treated for injuries to his right shoulder and ear.

Green reportedly was attempting to flee in a vehicle and struck three unoccupied cars in the parking lot. He did not live at the apartment complex.

The same 20-year-old fired upon in the vehicle Tuesday night was also injured in the incident last week, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
