Couple arrested in stabbing death of homeless man near Macon park
The search for a Macon murder suspect ended Thursday in a home on Napier Avenue.
At about 1 p.m. Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 41-year-old Thelonius McAuthor Sumpter on outstanding warrants not related to the killing, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Sumpter was a person of interest in the killing of a homeless man last month.
Officers also took into custody Sumpter’s girlfriend, Shirderia Tamese Dorsey, also 41.
Once Bibb County sheriff’s investigators questioned the couple about the stabbing death of Ryan Lee Glover they charged them in Glover’s death.
On November 24, Glover, 35, was found dead in a makeshift camp site in the woods on on Walnut Street across from the Daybreak homeless resource center near Central City Park.
McAuthor was charged with murder and Dorsey is accused of being a party to the crime of murder.
Both are being held without bond at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
