A 41-year-old man is wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation into Saturday’s fatal stabbing near Central City Park.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Thelonius McAuthor Sumpter, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release.

He’s about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 215 to 245 pounds. He has brown eyes.

Ryan Lee Glover, 35 was found stabbed to death at a campsite located in a wooded area. He’d been stabbed in the back.

The campsite was located in the woods in the back of an open field across from the Daybreak homeless shelter, said Bibb County Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

Glover was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

The woman who found the body saw a leg sticking up in the woods and first thought it was a mannequin, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office incident report. She got her fiance, and they showed the campsite to an arriving sheriff’s deputy.

The campsite was marked by an American flag. The body was found to the left of the campsite entrance in the woods, the report said. The face was covered with clothing and blood was visible around the head.

The death marks the 35th homicide for Macon-Bibb County this year, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

The stabbing remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sumpter is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
