Who has Monday off? See if Macon’s mail & trash will run on MLK Day & Inauguration Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is on Monday, Jan. 20, this year. The holiday coincides with Inauguration Day and while Inauguration Day isn’t a holiday, MLK Day is.
So, who has the day off? And which businesses will be closed?
Here’s what you need to know:
What offices and businesses will be closed on MLK Day?
Schools and many colleges will be closed for MLK Day, since the day is a federal holiday.
In addition, city, state and federal offices will be closed Monday.
Will mail be delivered on MLK Day?
No regular mail service will be available. USPS priority mail will still be operating.
FedEx and UPS will have modified operations.
What about banks?
Most banks and their branches will be closed, but ATMs will still be open.
Will trash pickup be delayed?
Trash pickup will not be delayed because of MLK Day.
