An indoor playground for young children has closed unexpectedly, the owners of the business announced on Facebook last week.

“I regret to inform you that Macon Giggles & Wiggles has officially closed its doors,” said Macon Giggles & Wiggles owner Deidra Wilson on Facebook.

Wilson, a Montessori teacher, opened the indoor children’s entertainment business in 2022 because she “wanted to create a special place in this community that catered to young children.”

The indoor playground doubled as a birthday party venue for infants and kids up to 6 years of age. It had several Montessori-style toys and play areas that resembled a garage, construction zone and coffee shop. In addition, there was an area for parents to sit and relax, all complete with a snack and coffee bar.

Wilson said in her post that she was “hopeful for a positive outcome, but this is what it has come to.” Ending the social media post, the owner thanked customers and said she was grateful to serve over 10,000 children during the time the business was open.

Several locals took to the comments to express their surprise and support over the years:

“This is horrible,” Stephanie Brock Gregory wrote. “Macon Giggles is the nicest place, run so well and clean.”

“You and Giggles have been a gift to our family,” said Tara Anderson.

Even Macon Mayor Lester Miller commented on the post.

“We can possibly assist a new location in the Macon Mall,” he wrote.

Giggles and Wiggles was located at 6443 Zebulon Road Suite 2 A-E in Macon.
