Will FedEx deliver on New Year’s Day? Here’s what will close & what will stay open in Macon

Pop the bubbly. The new year is almost here.

New Year’s Day is on Wednesday, Jan. 1, so be sure to stock up on celebration essentials because there will be several stores and businesses closed for the holiday. Here’s what to know:

What businesses will be closed on New Year’s Day?

Most banks will be closed, but mobile services will still be available. FedEx and USPS will not be sending or delivering mail on New Year’s Day.

What grocery stores will be open?

Walmart, Target, Publix and Kroger stores will be open on New Year’s Day.

Whole Foods and CVS will also be open, but with modified hours.

Are retail stores open?

Most retail stores will be closed, but TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods stores will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
