A day after a woman called police to report that her friend had been shot to death in his living room, two men and another woman are charged with murder.

Andre Diontea Jackson, 21, Lisa Ann Harris, 31, and Brandon Trayvon Haywood, 26, were arrested Friday morning and charged in the killing of 37-year-old Marcus Dewayne Braswell, who was shot multiple times in his home on Poppy Avenue early Thursday morning, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 5 a.m. Friday, a deputy spotted the three suspects in a car that had been reported stolen, the release said. The deputy tried to stop the car on Daffodil Street near Lilly Avenue, but the driver didn’t stop and led deputies on a chase.

The car stopped at Straight Street, where Jackson got out of the car and ran. The deputy chased Jackson, used a Taser on him and arrested him at a house in the 1600 block of Straight Street, the release said.

Harris stayed in the car and was arrested by another deputy. Haywood, of a Gross Avenue address, also was arrested after being chased and shocked with a Taser stun gun, the release said. Haywood, who is charged with auto theft, was arrested behind a vacant house on Woodard and Edwards avenues.

Upon interviewing the three, investigators discovered learned of their alleged involvement in Braswell’s killing. Jackson and Harris, who both live on Napier Avenue, also are charged with possession of cocaine, the release said.

More charges are possible as the investigation continues.

When investigators arrived at Braswell’s house in the 600 block of Poppy Avenue on Thursday morning, they discovered “a significant amount of drug paraphernalia on the dining room table,” a deputy noted in the incident report. “All rooms had been tossed and there was a surveillance video system throughout the home.”

The surveillance system appeared to still be recording.
