Fort Valley man killed in I-75 crash was brother of NFL player
The victim of a deadly Monday night crash on Interstate 75 in Macon was the brother of NFL player and former Perry High School football standout Casey Hayward.
Jecavesia Hayward, 27, of Fort Valley, was one of three passengers in a 2011 Toyota Camry that struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was pulled over in the emergency lane Nov. 27.
Hayward was ejected from the car and struck by passing vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley confirmed Hayward is the brother of Casey Hayward, who played football for Perry High School and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2012 NFL Draft. Hayward now plays for the Los Angeles Chargers.
The two other passengers were taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health where they were listed in stable condition.
The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
