Authorities nab alleged Georgia College rapist
A 20-year-old man accused of raping a woman last weekend at Georgia College was arrested about noon Thursday, according to a Facebook post by campus police.
Jarvis Javion Lawrence, 20, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while holding her at gunpoint behind Bell Hall about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Neither Lawrence nor the women are students at the Milledgeville college.
Lawrence was identified as a suspect through surveillance video, the post said.
Arrest warrants for Lawrence were issued Monday.
The U.S. Marshall’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Milledgeville Police Department, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Department of Probation and Parole helped find Lawrence.
