Who won state wrestling titles? Who advanced to the next round of the basketball playoffs?

This past weekend Middle Georgia had five wrestlers earn state titles and the first round of the GHSA basketball state playoffs saw a lot of teams from the area advance to the Sweet 16. Here is a roundup of all the action that you may have missed on the mat and the hardwood.

  • Veterans Julian Farber won the state title in the 132 weight class.

  • Perry’s Austin Thiel won the state title in the 113 weight class
  • West Laurens’ Brent Carr won the state title in the 182 weight class
  • Perry’s 195 Zeke Taylor won the state title in the 195 weight class
  • West Laurens’ Chase Horne won the state title in the 220 weight class
