When and where Middle GA high school football teams will play in third round of playoffs

With another exciting round of playoffs done, several Middle Georgia teams look to extend their seasons Friday night.

Houston County and Warner Robins moved on in notable wins last week, while several regional schools including Northeast, Perry and Northside all saw their seasons come to an end.

Here’s a look at the remaining Middle Georgia playoff teams and their schedules.

GHSA Class 6A

Houston County (10-2) @ Gainesville (12-0)

After their first round OT win, the Bears pulled another exciting upset, this time coming back from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit. They dominated North Atlanta late to win 41-31 and now face the undefeated Red Elephants in what could be their toughest game yet.

When: Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.

GHSA Class 5A

Warner Robins (8-4) @ Creekside (10-2)

The Demons chose the right time to get hot, as they won their seventh straight game last week over Northside-Columbus 38-7 to advance to the third round. They’ll face the Creekside Seminoles, who just throttled Dalton 61-0, at their stadium in Fairburn.

When: Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

GHSA Class A-Division I

Bleckley County (10-2) at St. Francis (9-3)

Bleckley County has made the most of their playoff shot despite some bad seeding from region play, upsetting Lamar County 27-21 in the second round. Now, despite having a better overall record, they travel to Alpharetta to take on the St. Francis Knights.

When: Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

GIAA Class 4A

Tattnall Square Academy defeated FPD 42-28 Friday night.

Tattnall (7-4) @ Stratford (8-3)

Two Macon schools will meet each other for the first time this postseason, and it will be a rematch between rivals. Both teams thoroughly dominated their games last week, and it will be the Eagles seeking revenge after a 33-28 loss to the Trojans in the regular season.

When: Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

GIAA Class 3A

Valwood (7-4) @ John Milledge (11-0)

JMA will try to extend its winning streak after breaking the record for most consecutive wins with their victory over Heritage last week. They’ll host the Valwood Valiants in the semifinal.

When: Friday, Nov. 25

GIAA Class 2A

Gatewood (5-6) @ CFCA (11-0)

The Lancers have been dominant this year, going undefeated and taking complete control of their last playoff game in a 48-6 win. They’ll face the Gatewood Gators, who they beat 31-21 in the regular season.
