Everything’s settled, but momentum entering playoffs is big
Who’s In?
Washington County (8-1, 5-0), Southwest (5-4, 4-1), Dodge County (5-5, 4-2), Dublin (7-2, 3-2)
Scouting report
There’s no drama here in Region 3-2A. Unbelievable, considering most expected the final week would decide the region title, and most expected it to be with Dublin and Washington County.
Alas, those two teams are ranked for their meeting at the House of Pain, but the only thing at stake is some momentum. The same goes for Southwest (at Bleckley County) as it prepares for its first home playoff game since 2008.
In the first round
It could have been better than getting Region 1-2A, which has three pretty good teams, led by No. 2 Fitzgerald. Then again, the Fitzgerald-Dublin game shapes as one of the best 1-4 matchups, one of the rare 1-4 matchups pitting ranked teams with similar records. Brooks County and Berrien play for the third seed, and Washington County is pulling for Berrien, which has played an 11th game once in the past 20-plus years. Brooks County, led by former Southwest head coach Maurice Freeman, can play.
