These are the best Mexican restaurant in Macon, according to Best of the Best voter
In addition to Macon’s meat and threes and bars, Macon has several Mexican restaurants to choose from when a family member is craving queso and chips.
The Telegraph’s Best of the Best awards for 2019 identified three Mexican restaurants that were considered the best in the area, according to voters.
The Best of the Best awards are given to businesses who receive the most votes online through The Telegraph’s website.
Here is a list of the Mexican restaurants that received the awards!
El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant
El Sombrero, at 4646 Forsyth Road, won the 2019 Best of the Best competition for The Telegraph.
The restaurant has served the Macon area for more than 35 years and is family owned and operated, according to their website.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday.
La Parrilla
La Parrilla, at 5080 Riverside Drive, received the Runner Up award for The Telegraph’s 2019 Best of the Best competition.
The restaurant is in the Shoppes at River Crossing shopping center and is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
Margaritas Mexican Grill at Mercer Village
Margaritas Mexican Grill at Mercer Village received the Honorable Mention award for The Telegraph’s 2019 Best of the Best competition.
The restaurant, at 1602 Montpelier Ave., has 32 beers on tap with Mexican selections and craft beers, and it caters to the college crowd being located right beside Mercer University’s campus, according to its Facebook page.
Margaritas is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12-9 p.m. Sunday.

La Bella Morelia, at 524 Mulberry St., is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Margaritas Mexican Grill, at 5451 Bowman Road, is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Polly’s La Mesa, at 3439 Pio Nono Ave., is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Tzango, at 336 Second St., is open for lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and for dinner 5-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
