These are the best bars in Macon, according to Best of the Best voters

Macon has several bars and pubs that serve delicious food and drinks, but only three won The Telegraph’s Best of the Best 2019 competition in the “Best Bar/Pub” category.

The Best of the Best awards are given to businesses who receive the most votes online through The Telegraph’s website.

Here is a list of the bars who received the recognition:

The Society Garden

The Society Garden, at 2389 Ingleside Ave., won the Best of the Best competition in the “Best Bar/Pub” category.

The Society Garden is an outdoor beer garden that hosts live music events, workshops and yoga popups, according to its website. The garden is dog friendly and events can be found on its Facebook page.

The garden is open 4-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m.-12 a.m. Friday, 2 p.m.-12 a.m. Saturday and 3-10 p.m. Sunday, according to its Facebook page.

The Rookery

The Rookery received the runner up award for the Best of the Best competition, and it is in downtown Macon at 543 Cherry St.

This eatery has a history in Macon that it shows through its Allman Burgers and Jimmy Carter shakes, according to its website.

The burger joint is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen

Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen, at 450 Third St., received the honorable mention for the Best of the Best category “Best Bar/Pub.”

The brewpub’s menu features wings, brisket and unique appetizers as well as waffle fries and other foods to accompany its handcrafted beers, according to its website.

Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Ocmulgee Brewpub, at 484 Second St., is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to its website.

Overtyme Bar and Grill, at 2455 Pio Nono Ave., is open 11-12 a.m. Monday-Thursday, 11-2 a.m. Friday and 12 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, according to its website.

Reboot Retrocade & Bar, at 566 Cherry St., is open 1-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 1 p.m.-12 a.m. Friday and Saturday, according to its website.

The Hummingbird Stage & Taproom, at 430 Cherry St., is open 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Saturday and 6 p.m.-12 a.m. Sunday, according to its website.

Bearfoot Tavern, at 468 Second St., is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Tuesday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to its Facebook page.

Grey Goose Players Club, at 4524 Forsyth Road, is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday, according to its website.

Just Tap’d, at 488 First St., is open 2-10 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 2-11 p.m. Thursday 12-11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday, according to its website.
