Each state is packed with iconic regional eats that share its history and define its geography,” said Alexandra Foster with Food Network.

So, which food is the most iconic food in Georgia? Let’s check it out:

What food is iconic in GA?

It isn’t peaches and it’s not pecans or vidalia onions, so what is Georgia’s most iconic food?

It’s none other than boiled peanuts.

“Particularly in peanut country, though, boiled peanuts (pronounced ‘boll-ed peanuts’ in a Southern drawl) are a crowd pleaser. They date back as early as the 1800s when farmers would chow down on them as a cheap and filling snack,” Foster said.

Boiled peanuts are a fun and delicious snack at ball games, by the pool in the summertime or as a movie night snack. Boiled peanut snackers can also dress up the food with flavors and seasonings like dill pickle, Cajun, garlic and onion, sweet and sour and more.

What about some of the other states?

In California, avocado toast takes the stage, while in Delaware, fries with vinegar are an iconic taste. Florida’s iconic food is key lime pie and in Idaho, the ice cream potato is a flavor explosion.
