Will fall in GA be more warm and dry or wet and cool? Here’s the NWS & Farmers Almanac forecasts
If you’re tired of the heat, there’s relief in sight. Summer is coming to a close and fall is on its way in, but don’t break out your flannels just yet.
Here’s what to know about the fall forecast in Georgia:
What the National Weather Service predicts for GA
According to experts at the National Weather Service (NWS), fall temperatures in Georgia could be “leaning above normal” from September to November.
As far as precipitation during those months, NWS experts predict that there’s a 30-40% chance of above normal rain chances.
What Farmers’ Almanac says about fall 2025
Farmers’ Almanac experts are predicting a “warm, dry start” to fall in Georgia, with a “wet, stormy finish.”
Specifically in September, the Farmers’ Almanac predicts warm weather, with possible stray thunderstorms. In October, there will be a stretch of fair weather, but November will bring more rain and storms.
Here’s what AccuWeather experts say
AccuWeather meteorologists, much like the NWS and Farmers’ Almanac, predict that the South will have a rainy fall, with a higher severe weather risk as well.
“Fall is the second severe weather season, only behind spring, when powerful thunderstorms and tornadoes are most frequent across the country,” said AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Lada.
Temperatures, however, are forecasted to be near normal for Georgia and other southern states.
