Don’t want to wait to early vote in Macon? Here are ways to beat lines at the polls now
A record number of voters have turned out for advanced voting in Georgia, with some counties seeing long lines and extended wait times.
Early voting is open until Nov. 1, and many voters want to avoid crowds or need a more convenient time to accommodate their schedule.
If you want to make your early voting experience as hassle-free as possible, there are some things you can do.
Avoid peak voting hours
The first and last day of early voting tends to be the busiest, but there are certain times when the poll traffic will be high.
Weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Midday lunch hours
After work hours
Be flexible with polling locations
Unlike the general election, you are not assigned a polling place for early voting, so you can pick from one of the three advanced locations.
Bibb County Board of Elections - 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, suite MB101
Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center - 132 Willie Smokie Glover Drive
Theron Ussery Park Community Center-815 North Macon Park Drive
Vote on weekends
Early voting ends on the Friday immediately before Election Day, but you can vote Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bibb County will allow Sunday voting on Oct. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Be prepared
Make sure to bring the necessary identification documents with you to speed the process up. In Georgia, you may present one of the following forms of ID:
Driver’s license
Passport
