An Ohio man’s day took a big turn when he won a huge lottery prize.

The man from East Rochester slept through his alarm and missed work, according to a July 16 news release from the Ohio Lottery.

The man went to buy an energy drink and picked up a $30 lottery ticket in Minerva. He won $500 and decided to buy a couple more tickets, the lottery said.

He bought a Monopoly 200X ticket and realized he won a huge prize.

“I reversed my truck in the drive thru and asked the clerk to check my ticket. I told him, ‘I think you just changed my life,’” he told lottery officials.

The man’s heart was racing as the cashier confirmed he won $50,000.

Earlier this year the man won $20,000 on a scratch-off after his truck slid off the road near a gas station, according to the lottery.

The man used that prize to buy a new truck and said he plans to use his newest prize to pay the truck off, lottery officials said.

After taxes he’ll take home $36,0000.

Minerva is about an 80-mile drive southeast from Cleveland.
