Lottery player spends $5 on a scratch-off and wins $1 million in Massachusetts
A Massachusetts woman won a huge prize after buying a $5 lottery ticket.
Teresa Moreno purchased a Triple 777 instant ticket game at The Country Trading Post & Restaurant in Chicopee, according to a news release from the Massachusetts Lottery.
Moreno then learned she won the game’s jackpot of $1 million.
She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
She said she plans to take a vacation, invest and enjoy retirement.
In Michigan, a man won $4 million after buying the store’s last three lottery tickets for the $4,000,000 Winner game.
Another lucky player won $4.7 million in North Carolina by playing the Outlaw’s Loot game online.
Chicopee is about a 5-mile drive north from Springfield.
