Lottery player won $10, used it to win $15, then was speechless at next prize
A Maryland man was shocked to see how much he won on a scratch-off ticket.
The man bought a lottery ticket and won $10, a news release from the Maryland Lottery said. He used that money to buy another ticket and won $15.
The man wanted to keep the wins coming so he decided to buy a third ticket, a $10 Ice scratch-off. This time, when he scanned the ticket he got a “go to lottery” message.
“I needed to scratch that ticket to find out if I won anything,” he told lottery officials.
That’s when he saw his ticket matched one of the winning numbers, meaning he won $50,000.
“I was speechless. It was a nice surprise,” he said of winning the game’s second-tier prize.
The man said he plans to give some of his winnings to his family and pay bills.
