Two friends spending time together in Northern Michigan bought a lottery ticket and hit the jackpot.

“My friend, the other club member, lives in Northern Michigan, and we just recently started playing the Lottery together whenever I am up north at my cabin,” the spokesperson for the club told lottery officials.

They bought a ticket at Talley’s Log Cabin Bar in Lewiston, but they didn’t know how much they had won.

They scanned the ticket and were told to go to the lottery office, officials said. When they scanned their Fast Cash ticket again on the app, they “flipped out” when they saw the prize.

The pair from a Wayne County lottery club had just hit the jackpot and won $793,304, Michigan lottery officials said in a June 4 news release.

“It was a total shock and took a while to wrap our heads around it,” one of the winners told officials.

Now, the two winners plan to use the money to live without debt, officials said.

“I don’t think it’s going to fully sink in until we cash our checks,” the player told officials.

Lewiston is about a 225-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
