Villa owned by former Nike exec captures ‘Oregon’s natural beauty.’ Check out the view

A remarkable Tuscan-style villa that is considered a “beacon of luxury and sophistication” has landed on the real estate market in Bend, Oregon, for $4.55 million, the listing on Engel & Volkers says.

The 10,061-square-foot beauty is owned by Michener Chandlee, chief financial officer of Fanatics and former executive of Nike, Lindsay Morin of Engel & Volkers, co-listing agent with Alexandria Bolden, confirmed to McClatchy News.

Chandlee had been with Nike for a decade before being hired by Fanatics in 2019, CNBC reported.

With five bedrooms and six bathrooms, the mansion sports deluxe views since it sits above the Deschutes National Forest and captures “the iconic Cascade Mountains and Central Oregon’s natural beauty,” the listing says.

“Find yourself inspired by the artisan craftsmanship and mesmerized with the unique architectural details of this enchanting estate.”

Features of the villa include:

  • Ornate ceilings

  • “Pillars barged in from Peru”

  • “Venetian plaster walls”

  • Mahogany doors

  • Gourmet kitchen

  • Gym

  • Theater/game rooms

  • Courtyard

According to Forbes, the villa was built by John Houston, a U.S. Air Force officer who became a real estate developer, and cost $11 million. It took a few years to actually finish thanks to all the architectural features that were internationally shipped in. Unfortunately, Houston died following the completion of the estate.

“Purchasing this home we felt we were stepping into his legacy,” Chandlee’s wife, Tara Chandlee, told Forbes. “We wanted to honor it and feel we have become part of the story. We felt we had a responsibility to bring it back to life.”

Bend is about 130 miles east of Eugene.
