Showstopping $43 million estate breaks a California record after selling. Check it out

A ravishing oceanside estate breaks a California record after sitting on the real estate market in Emerald Bay for only 52 days.

The five-bedroom, 10-bathroom, almost 5,000-square-foot home sold for $43.5 million, breaking the highest price-per-square-foot record in Orange County at $8,733-per-square foot for new construction in 2022, a news release said.

In terms of total cost it’s among the most expensive homes ever sold in the county, but according to the Los Angeles Times, “the current record was set last year, when hedge fund manager Joseph Edelman spent $70 million on an 18,000-square-foot mega-mansion in Laguna Beach’s Abalone Point.”

Along with stunning views of the Pacific blue and Catalina Island, the house features include:

  • Gym

  • Media lounge

  • Wine wall

  • “Beach-ready wellness center with an outdoor shower, in-ground spa”

  • Private primary suite patio

  • Fire pit

  • Four-car garage

The house is a smart property that includes “James Loudspeaker audio, state-of-the-art Sony televisions and projector, bi-fold garage doors, automatic recessing shades and pocketing glass doors, HVAC as well as a security system with surveillance and entry door station,” the release says.

The listing was held by The Smith Group, led by Tim Smith, a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Property Specialist.
