A pig rescue sanctuary isn’t a place for a dog — unless its best friend is a pig.

Timon the pup and Pumbaa the pig are best friends, the Arizona Humane Society said. Dogs and pigs shouldn’t usually live together, but the pair became inseparable.

“This unlikely duo loved to visit each other on occasion during their stay at (the humane society),” the group said May 23 on Facebook. “They have since gone on to find new loving homes with our wonderful rescue partners.”

Timon and Pumbaa, named after the iconic duo from “The Lion King,” were both taken to the Better Piggies Rescue in Arizona.

Timon was the only dog in the group, and he’ll stay by Pumbaa’s side.

“(Pumbaa’s) a natural greeter and I can’t wait for everyone to meet him,” the rescue said on Facebook. “Plus he needs to be near his best friend, Timon, who we are working with to become a sanctuary dog.”
