Macon-Bibb residents to soon find out how much their homes are worth
Macon-Bibb County property owners will soon receive property value assessments.
The notices will be sent out by the Macon-Bibb County Board of Tax Assessors on Saturday. The valuations also includes an estimation of taxes owed, although that rate is based on the 2015 millage rate, according to a news release.
And in Macon-Bibb County that rate could change in 2017. Mayor Robert Reichert’s administration is proposing a 3 mill increase and the Bibb County Board of Education also has yet to set its millage rate for the year.
Property value appeals must be filed within 45 days of receiving the notices. For more information visit www.bibbassessors.com.
