Rules and protocols
Security protocols for entry will include metal detectors, handheld wanding and bag searches. No weapons are allowed. Guests should plan to arrive early in order to allow time for these safety measures.
The Macon Coliseum has a clear bag policy. The policy notes that patrons can bring a 12” x 12” x 6” clear bag and one handheld clutch. Bags such as backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, and patterned clear bags are prohibited. Balloons are not allowed.
Families and other guests must dress in a manner appropriate to a ceremonial occasion. T-shirts, shorts or other informal attire are not allowed. Proper footwear must be worn.
Loud or lengthy expressions of exuberance for one graduate distracts from the attention the next graduate deserves. Noisemakers (i.e., horns, whistles, etc.), beach balls, balloon bouquets, or other items that may disrupt the ceremony should not be brought into the Coliseum. Violators and others who display disruptive behavior may be escorted from the premises by Bibb County Campus Police Officers and/or other authorized personnel.
COVID protocols
Temperatures will not be taken at the door. Face masks inside the Coliseum are encouraged, but not required, and sanitizing stations are spread throughout the venue. More information regarding COVID-19 procedures can be found on the Coliseum’s Safety First Commitment page.
Parking
Guests will be required to show tickets to park in the Macon Coliseum parking lot.
