Macon man indicted in December fatal shooting

Bibb County grand jurors indicted a 23-year-old Macon man Tuesday in the December 2015 fatal shooting of a man at Pine Ridge Apartments on Cliniton Road.

Shavez Christian Flewellen, of Moore Court, is charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

Flewellen is accused of shooting Jarvis Ronte West, also 23, once in the chest and twice in the abdomen Dec. 17.

At the time of the killing, Flewellen was on first offender probation for a 2013 Bibb County case in which he'd pleaded guilty to possessing a gun for which the serial number had been removed, according to court records.

He is being held at the county jail without bond, according to jail records.
