Robber targets video game stores in Macon and Conyers

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a robber who has targeted at least two game stores in Georgia.

The suspect robbed a GameStop in Conyers on Monday before traveling to Macon to repeat the crime Wednesday, according to the Conyers Police Department.

Monday's robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. at GameStop on Dogwood Drive in Conyers, according to a news release from the city's police department. Just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, the same man walked in to the GameStop on Presidential Parkway in Macon and stole a game called "Payday 2: Crimewave edition," a Playstation 4 to play it on, $200 in cash and a wireless controller, according to the sheriff's office.

The Conyers Police Department shared photos of the suspect with Bibb County sheriff's investigators, according to an email from Bibb sheriff's spokeswoman Linda Howard.

In both incidents, the suspect approached the clerk as if preparing to pay but instead said, "I have a gun. This is robbery."

Both crimes were captured on surveillance video.

The suspect, who wore a tan-colored flat cap and tinted glasses in both cases, is described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall and in his 30s or 40s. He is thought to weigh between 250 and 275 pounds.

Crimestoppers Atlanta, at 404-577-8477, is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

Anyone with information on his identity or information about the Macon incident are encouraged to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on-call Investigator. Tipsters also may call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
