Bibb County looks to public for help identifying robbery suspect

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help with identifying a man who stole a video game console from a Macon store after intimidating the clerk on Wednesday night.

Just after 8 p.m. a man tried to buy a gaming system from GameStop on Presidential Parkway, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Upon approaching the cashier to pay for the system, the man said, "I have a gun, this is robbery," according to the report. The cashier didn't see a gun but told sheriff's deputies she believed the man had one.

The man fled with the game system and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the release. The crime was captured on the store's surveillance footage.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or information on the incident is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on-call Investigator, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
