Driver sentenced in fatal hit-and-run at Macon shopping center

A man will serve more than a decade in prison for fatally hitting a woman with his truck at a shopping center in Macon, according to court records from Tuesday.

Link Dennis Pair Warren, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and one count of hit and run on Tuesday, according to court records.

Hoa Tran, 48, was driving her moped behind Belk’s at the Shoppes at Riverside Crossing on May 2, 2023, when a white Toyota Tacoma hit her. She was conscious at the scene and taken to a hospital for treatment, where she later died.

Investigators found Warren was driving through the same parking lot and struck Tran. He stopped and then continued driving toward Wesleyan Drive, according to previous Telegraph reporting.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by eight years of probation, according to his sentencing sheet. Warren was also fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution for the victim.
