Macon man free on bond after DUI charge in pedestrian death. Victim identified
A Macon man is free on a $1,850 bond after his arrest Monday on a charge of driving under the influence in connection with a pedestrian death over the weekend, according to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office jail records.
Dadrean Rashard Felton, 28, was driving a Chevrolet Camaro west on Eisenhower Parkway toward Heron Street on Sunday night when his car struck a pedestrian in dark clothing crossing Eisenhower Parkway, according to a Bibb sheriff’s news release.
Michael Keith Miles, 61, of Macon, died from his injuries on the scene and was pronounced by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. He would have turned 62 on May 25, according to information from the coroner’s office.
The pedestrian death occurred at the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Heron Street at 9:28 p.m. Sunday.
Whether Miles was in the crosswalk when struck is unclear. An inquiry has been made to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Bibb sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with the sheriff’s fatality investigator, according to the news release.
