Teens face murder charges after man was shot at a Macon car wash
Two teenagers were indicted Wednesday in the shooting death of a man at a car wash in 2022, according to court records.
Demarrian Tarrick Richardson, 19, and Christopher Davis, 18, are facing multiple murder counts, as well as aggravated assault and armed robbery, stemming from an incident on June 14, 2022, where they allegedly shot Freddie Lee Crowell at a car wash at 500 Pio Nono Ave, according to the indictment.
After being shot, Crowell crawled over to the fire station across the street and was transported to the hospital, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Though at the time he was listed in stable condition, he died on July 13, 2022.
The indictment says that Richardson and Davis acted together and caused the death of Crowell by shooting him with a Taurus 9mm handgun while attempting to rob the victim of his gun.
Davis is additionally charged with theft by receiving for retaining a stolen Taurus 9mm on July 6 that belonged to another person, according to the indictment. It’s valued to be $1,500 or less.
For their murder charges, they face a life sentence. For armed robbery, they can face either a life sentence or a minimum term of 10 years, but no more than 20 years in prison. For aggravated assault, they can face not less than one nor more than 20 years. For Davis’ additional charge, he may be fined and may serve a sentence of up to 12 months, according to state law.
